Construction sector experience
Marquard has worked in construction for more than 25 years, with experience in the building materials sector, according to Roofing Today, which reported the move on 22 September 2026.
She joins from Protan, the Scandinavian roofing membrane manufacturer, where she was managing director for Western Europe. Protan is also a Rockwool customer, giving her experience of dealing with the business as a buyer.
UK investment and customer support
Rockwool is planning a new factory in the West Midlands as part of the expansion of its UK operations. It is also continuing long-term investment at its existing stone wool manufacturing facility in South Wales.
Marquard’s responsibilities extend to supporting system holders, distributors and merchants across the UK and Ireland. The company said her work would include developing its connections with customers and other construction businesses and responding to changes in their requirements.
Priorities for the role
Marquard identified regulatory compliance, building performance and demand for more sustainable materials as challenges facing Rockwool’s construction customers. She said the manufacturer’s technical knowledge could help those businesses understand standards and regulations and prepare for changes affecting their work.
Drawing on her experience at Protan, she said she had seen the benefits of Rockwool’s industry knowledge from a customer’s position. She identified customer service, technical support and product development as areas through which she intended to develop further opportunities to support its partners.
Nick Wilson, managing director of Rockwool UK & Ireland, said Marquard’s construction sector contacts and experience would contribute to the company’s expansion objectives. He also pointed to her understanding of the business from the customer side as an insight she would bring to its leadership team.
