Event arrangements
Fairgame City will host the Wednesday afternoon gathering, according to Roofing Today. The programme combines informal networking with food, drinks and entertainment. Attendees will be able to learn about the Bitumen Flat Roofing Association (BFRA) and its future plans.
The association is accepting ticket enquiries through info@bfra.co.uk. Companies can also use that address to ask about sponsorship opportunities for the event.
BFRA chair Shaun Lotay said the association had spent the past couple of years establishing itself. He described the gathering as a next stage in that work, intended to help people exchange ideas and develop industry relationships.
Membership and industry links
Manufacturers, contractors and affiliates are among those welcome to attend, alongside association members and their guests. The invitation extends beyond the BFRA’s own membership to other roofing organisations and the wider construction sector.
The BFRA has invited representatives from the Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing Association (LRWA), Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA), Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Rooflight Association and National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC). Roofing Today reports these as invitations, rather than confirmed attendance.
The announcement follows the opening of BFRA membership for 2026–2027. Manufacturers, merchants, contractors and affiliates have been encouraged to join and contribute to decisions about the association’s future.
The association’s programme
The BFRA was established to represent the reinforced bitumen membrane (RBM) sector. Its stated priorities include improving standards, developing technical knowledge and securing wider recognition of these roofing systems within construction.
Work under way includes the BFRA Design Guide. The association’s programme also covers technical guidance, competency, sustainability and industry engagement.
Lotay said co-operation with other organisations was important to the BFRA. He linked the invitation to representatives from elsewhere in roofing and construction to the association’s aim of representing the RBM sector while involving a wider range of industry participants.
